Sheila
Can only go back two generations from JANE.
Her father was JOHN, b.25 Mar 1783, Nappan, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia who died 18 Nov 1866, Albert Mines, Albert County, New Brunswick [deathdate unproven from source with no proof] and ELIZABETH WOODWORTH , born 1 May 1786 in Hillsborough, Albert County, New Brunswick, who died [again unproven] 17 Dec 1866 in Albert Mines.I have never found any records of either death nor have I been able to establish where buried, but likely in the Church cemetery at the Albert Mines Baptist Church.
They had several children: NANCY [m. Alexander McRae], SARAH [m. Peter Milton], Asa [m. Esther O'Neal], JAMES who married Elizabeth ALLEN ]my line], JANE, JOHN [m. Jane Hopper], RHODA [m. Jonathan Graham] and MARY JANE who married the brother of Jane's Daniel, CHRISTIAN ESLER.
The next generation back is JOHN TRERICE [note the change in spelling] b. Dec 1759, possibly Shrewsbury, England [he arrived in Cumberland County as a "foundling", placed in an orphanage run by the Thomas Coram Foundation, on 29 Jan 1760 ["a child about a month old"].He died after 1806 and married RHODA PORTER on 28 Nov 1780 in Nappan, NS.She was born 24 Aug 1762, Cornwallis, NS, daughter of Elisha Porter and Miriam Russ, and died after 1806
They had a total of 11 children, Ann, John [my line], Elisha [Moses], Miriam, Elizabeth, Sarah, James, Ruth, Lydia, Isaac and Rosanah.
Have lots of notes on both JOHN, JOHN and JAMES but are too extensive to copy here.If interested I can do further for you, but would be interested as to your connection to this family. The name has gone through several changes with the local family using the spelling as mine is, TERRIS.Let me know if I've helped, etc.
Sharon
