Tessier Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Elizabeth,
The lawsuit you came across is rather a thing of the past. It seems that folks are always uncovering paperwork that their family had from this period of time. Of course it was the start of the Depression and there was always a chance of getting rich quick. Nonetheless it was a serious endeavor to hopefully receive some money from the Catholic Church.
But I am writing to find out where your Piccard/Locker folks were located? I believe that my group of Tessiers aka Casey were connected through marriage to a Piccard. These folks settled in Buffalo, New York probably about the 1840's. That is where I began to find them in the church records of St. Pierre's church. Because my group used the name Casey I did not always record folks with the surname Tessier. However, I assumed that there must be some connection.
This church was started by the French Catholics of the city. Some of whom were from Canada. Anyway I would be most interested to hear the location and if you have any first names to put with the group. Thanks for any info you can offer. Sara Burkholder
