Hello group: My name is Sheryl Ann Wilson and I'm residing last 20yrs in Penticton,BC Canada, but was born/raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am part of this Tessier dit Lavigne line through Urbain being the head of it all. I have to dig out my complete family listing that I obtained from my maternal Grandfather before he passed so I can be more specific as to how I fit it. But for right now - my Great Grandfather (maternal side) was Leo Chester Cunningham and he was raised by a Great Aunt who lived her life at Lachine, Quebec. She was direct to Urbain's line of Lavigne dit Tessier and the amazing thing is she married a Mohawk man who was the chief's son,who fought in the war of 1812. Those are the specific names I need to re-look up for you that are the tie in. I haven't been on this site for years, but years ago from 1999 onwards I was on the freebie part of any genological site online I could get on looking for info and just today at the top of the entire listing for Tessier when I read what was written about Urbain it fit, but parts of it did not, for we were told that Urbain was sent to Montreal and given his piece of land by the then King of France and that Urbain's land is where Notre Dame Cathedral stands and I at one point had that confirmed by a Nun at the Cathedral. You see that Great Aunt I'm referring to called my Great Grandfather when he was living in Vancouver, he was one of 3 who started what today is Cominco - ah ya! Great West something or other was the original name before Cominco bought it and Leo was the Financial Lead of the company. Anyway this Gt. Aunt of his was actually living at Notre Dame Cathedral when she began to die and she called him to come and get the deed for Urbain Tessier dit Lavigne's part in it and that is what I confirmed years back with a Nun. All of us are even related to deceased Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, was told to a relative of mine who visited and tourned Old Montreal the day before his funeral. There is a plaque on the Bank of Montreal Bldg. which has to do with our family as well. Any comments, any family geneology listings I will dig mine out to share as well and I welcome contact family.
