Emerance/Emerantienne/Mary (b. 11 Feb 1818) was my great, great, great aunt. She was the third child of Simon Tessier (b. 25 May 1794 at Ste-Genevieve, died before 12/1861 when his third wife remarried and was listed at a widow) and Marie-Charlotte Jacques (daughter of Joseph and Marie Remillard).
According to TW Denomme, who published "Our French Canadian Ancestors in Huron County", Thimothy Neveu was the son of Louis and Charlotte Botquin (who was the widow of Louis Rivet). The info you have is confirmed in this book.
There is another researcher from the Alpena MI area on the FamilyHistory.com site who is also researching Emerance. She descends from the second marriage to Eli Corriveau.
The family did file affidavits with the court in Montreal during the suit against the Sulpicians, et al. The request for money comes from the idea that the family "incorporated" itself and anyone "buying stock" in the Corporation Tessier dit Lavigne would be a plaintiff in the lawsuit. The court and the archives do have records on the suit.
I'm in the middle of recreating my database, but do have it roughed in and online at myfamily.com for safekeeping. If you're interested, I'll send you the site location and password at myfamily.com so that you can take a look and copy down info (just know that I haven't got many of the references or some of the dates in place yet...and have about 6000 people to reenter.) I'd really love it if you would send your line coming up from Emerance to be included.
