Oops! Charlotte, I forgot my U.S. history. Virginia Dare of the Lost Colony was the first white child born in North America. I recall that it was in the 16th century. But all the members of that colony disappeared. Maybe we can say of Helene Desportes that she was the first white female born in North America who has descendants living in North America today.
