Jerry, hope you can help with one other quandry. Have pinpointed a couple from late 1600s/early 1700s named Marie Josephte Fortin and Jacques Groinier. Have found 7 different sources, giving marriage dates in 4 different countries/towns over more than a 25 year period. PRDH, which I personally find the most reliable lately, lists their marriage in early 1700s in Ile-du-Cap-Breton, which is apparently Nova Scotia. Can not find any sources of their parish records, and the Ile's website gives no clues on parishes or civil authorities. Any thoughts on how one might be able to find a copy of the marriage, if indeed it happened up there?
