Aloha Mary,
My information is from Jette and material of G. Robert Tessier (the later an occasional contributor to this forum.)
Marie-Jeanne (d/o Mathurin & Elisabeth Letourneau), the 4th of their 6 kids, was born 22 and baptized 31 May 1685 at Ste-Anne-de La Perade. In Canadian documents Mathurin indicated he came from Ste-Ausonne Parish, city of Angouleme, France and that he was born about 1639. However, G. Robert Tessier with the help of local genealogists, was not able to establish that Mathurin was from Angouleme. Mathurin and Elisabeth m. 23 Sept 1670 at Chateau-Richer. He died 19 Jan 1703 at Montmagny. He signed a contract at LaRochelle on 10 April 1657 (at the age of 18) to come to Canada. He initially settled on the Coast of Beaupre but moved to Ste-Anne-de-La Perade after he married where he spent most of his married life. He moved to Montmagny shortly before he died.
My wife nee Tessier is a direct descendant of their first child, Edmond.
Jerry Lesperance, Aiea, Hawaii
