Joanne,I am becoming more convinced that my Casey line was originally TAsey.I was just back in the North Tonawanda, New York area and found a marriage record for the daughter who was,Ida.She listed her last name as Tasey....Parents Michael and Elisabeth Martin. She married a Manuel Rummel. Her mother's name is listed as Tasey when she is buried in 1913.Her dad according to his death certificate states that he was 84 upon his death. This occured in 1923 which would have put his birth year about 1839.The census records say that he was naturalized about 1859.I guess I need to pursue the naturalization records for Erie Co., NY for about that time. His death certificate showed no place of birth or parents. But he went by the name of Michael or Mack. Census records show that he was born in French Canada.I am assuming they came into N. New YOrk at some point.Does any of this ring true to anyone out there also researching this elusive group? Please advise.Tnanks so much.Sara Burkholder
