Bonjour et Aloha Jacques,
I understand and fully appreciate what you wrote. I am 70 years old and of almost 100% French-Canadian ancestry. When I started researching my ancestry 7 years ago, I soon learned that I had to know some French. So in my 60's I took 4 semesters of college-level French and even joined a French discussion group. It was not easy.
At my age it is much easier for me to converse in the language I used for over 60 years especially since almost all of the postings on this forum are in that anguage. However I enjoy reading in French and encourage all who are more comforatbale with French to use that language.
(I wrote this in 1 minute in English. It would have taken me 10 minutes to have written it in French.)
A la prochaine,
Jerry, Aiea, Hawaii
