Hi Jan;
Great job detective Jan! I don't know how I could help but I am sure interested in receiving a copy of the files. Two of my brothers still live in Montreal and speak French and might be able to assist in some way.
Photocopying in Canada may be less expensive than photocoying in the USA. I would be willing to do the photocoying but I live in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada - 300 east of Vancouver.
I also wonder if the documents might be scannable. I have a scanner and would be willing to scan a full set onto disks - providing the documents can be scanned without alteration.
Anyway, step one is getting one full set of files and collecting some funds to pay for the copy. I would be willing to contribute a few dollars for the cause. Count me in.
