John Michel Tessier and Maire Pelagie De Niege Adle, where married in
Natchitoches in 1829.
This couple were the parents of George Damon Tessier and his sister Marie
Innocente Nativite Tessier who married Neil McLean then later his cousin
Laughlin McLean and finally Augustus L. Grow.

Jean Michael de Tessier was from Bordeaux. He was an admiral in the
French navy-a supporter of Napoleon. After Napoleon's defeat he escaped
with three of his ships and came to the La. Land grant given by Napoleon
(don't have the date but he would have arrived in the early 1800's-land
grant is probally before). According to the relatives, the ships became the
now steamship line-Kennison which operates out of New Orleans. Also, relatives say
that he was a Knight Templar and that his sword hangs in a museum in NO.
The plantation according to family, was about 5000 acres. The home was
fabulous, race track and ballroom.

Please email me at the given email address if you have any connection to these people. Jean Michel is my great-great grandfather.
