TESSIERS/REVOLUTIONARY WAR
Posted by: Sara Burkholder Date: January 20, 2002 at 17:03:23
  of 1316

I recently came across the name TESSIER in a book by Virgil D. White dealing with Revolutionary War Pension Files...It showed the following Tessiers to be part of Hazen's Regiment; Charles, Jean, and Joseph. There were actually two Joseph's. One spelled his last name Tessieur There was also a Peter in the 3rd Artillery Regiment. I believe it indicates that Peter served in a Massachusetts group, namely Cranes Continental Artillery. Charles is shown to have applied for a pension in 1819 in Clinton, Co., New York at the age of 73. He had no family.
My question is, Does anyone know of Hazen's Regiment, where it was based and what battles it may have been involved with?
Question number 2 would be do any of you kind folks have ties to the above named men? Having discovered two Joseph's in my group my curiousity is aroused.
Thanks everyone for listening to my queries and for all the help you have been in the past and for any light you can shed on my current dilemma. Sara Burkholder
