Hello Tessiers:

I believe that I am a direct decendant of the Tessiers. My family came from George Tessier, who later changed his name to George Stacy.

My father is Alvin Stacy, his father was Leonard Stacy, he had two brothers, Then came George Tessier. George played the stock market and when it crashed committed suicide by jumping out of a window. I believe it was in New York City or New Jersey. I am not sure. He used to buy my father clothes when he was little. He bought him some knickers and my father just loved them.

The family also has a land grant from France to Quebec. The family owned the land that a Catholic Cathedral was built on and as the story goes, there was a nun who disquised herself as cleaning lady and stole the land grant. After doing some research and talking with my father, I believe that she was working for the Church and stole the land grant so that no one would be able to sell the land that the church was on.

That's only a theory. I believe that if someone could find out the name of the Priest and the names of the nun's that were in the church at that time, you could trace their names and find out if they are alive or dead and if any of their family members may have this land grant. My thought is that the priest of the Cathedral has the land grant.

If there is someone that could find this out for me, please let me know. I will keep doing my research into this.

Rae Ellen.
