Hello Jackie:

My French isn't so great. If you can translate some info for me i would appreciate it. Or Send me some info on Urbain Tessier. I have been doing some research and I believe that a bounty warrant was issued for the Catholic Church, not a land grant. We are all going in the wrong direction. My gg Uncle was George Tessier (Stacy). He committed suicide when the stock market dropped. He always talked about this problem with the church. As per info from my father. ALvin Stacy. It had something to do with a Nun from Quebec who disquised herself as a cleaning lady. SHe came cleaned for Urbain and stole this paper that gave the Tessiers claim to that piece of land. The land had a catholic church on it. I have been looking into the aspect of the Grey Nuns. I doing research, i learned that they would do anything to help the poor. And i believe that there was some argument that the land under the church would be sold and this "lady" came into Urbain's house and stole the claim so that the church would not be demolished. MY thoughts that it was the GREY NUNS. Because they would do anything to help the Poor. Margarite D'Youville was the Nun to start the the Society of Grey Nuns.

I think that if we could find out more info on her, we might get some history.
