I have been searching for a way to find out which one of Urbain Tessier's children our family is descended from. I understand the name was changed from Tessier to Tacia/Tacy/Tacey by some of the family who came to the United States. My father was Joseph H. Tacia, son of Benjamin Tacia who married Hattie Kilborn, Benjamin's father's name was Joseph Tacia and he was married to Margaret or Maida Campeau. I know Joseph was in New York and that Benjamin was born there. Benjamin also had a brother Joseph and a sister Ellen. Unfortunately we only found out our ancestor was Urbain but the line doesn't tell us which of the children we are descended from. Can you shed any light on this. I heard once that nine sons were in the Civil War and only four or five survived. I would appreciate information from anyone. Benjamin was born 10 4, 1862 so I imagine Joseph was born around 1840's.
Thanks loads

Joanne Tacia (Tessier) Kowalski
