Léon Tessier

After many months of searching, I have found concrete evidence that by ancestor, Léon Tessier (1807 - 1880), husband of Catherine Robidoux, was a descendant of Daniel Tessier dit
Laforest, and not of Urbain Tessier dit Lavigne as asserted by Drouin. Léon was born 11 April 1807 in Berthier, Quebec. Léon and his parents migrated to Raquette River, near Messina, NY, in about 1812. He married Catherine in 1828 or 1829, and moved to Jamestown Forks, near Ormstown, Quebec, where they raised ten children. He died in Dewittville, Quebec in 1880.
