Does anyone on this forum have a clue as to when a Tessier group changed to Casey? I am fumbling along in the dark mostly hitting dead ends. I believe I have found Jean Baptiste Casey/Tessier who was married to Mary Grossman in the 1870 New York census living in Buffalo.
Going back another generation would bring us to Joseph Tessier/Casey? married to Madeline Beauchamp. I have yet to find them on the census anywhere at anytime. I have tried both surnames. Son Jean Baptiste was born in 1812 so one would think they would be somewhere in 1820. Not that I have found. Perhaps you can sense my frustration. I would be most greatful for any ideas as to how to proceed. Thanks for listening. Sara Burkholder
