Yes, this is the family I am interested in. My gg grandmother was Olive Henry and she is listed a French on the 1871 Ontario census. I was not aware there were six children in the family, I just have Peter and two sisters, Marie and Euphraisie Irean. I have not been able to establish who the parents of Olive were. I have put her in the family of William Joseph Henry the son of Peter Henry and Olive Draper. I have no proof of this, but Olive was born about 1828 and that is about the only family she could have been born in during that time. She has been listed as Olive, Aulie, Ollie, and Alice on various marriage records of her children and her death certificate. Do you know of any other Henry family who were in Ontario that were French? William and his wife Eliza were married in January of 1828. The children in there family who I have proof of were born beginning 1831. So, she could have been out of the home by the time the first census was taken. She had her first child in 1846 in New York.

In the 1871 Census for Gwillimbury East Page 21 there is a listing for the following:I wanted to keep this info as it could be the mother of Olive Henry: Nugent Elizabeth B wife of the late Wm Henry died May 7, 1877 aged 87 years.

When Samuel Nugent and Olive?? Henry came to Canada abt. 1859-1860 they settled in East Gwillimbury, York County.

I have been at this for over 30 years and have never been able to prove what family Olive came from. However, in the Peter Henry family there are several women named Olive.
