Pearl half of the people who lived on the frontier signed thier name witha X. Peoples names were wrote down depending on the Sherriff the Tax collecter clerk s version as how they heard the name. Half of those people were not scholars ect. The Teters who originated in Scotland England Wales and Ireland spellled there names early on as Tetter Tieter Teater Tyter Tether Tettery Teder Tedder Teterton Tetteron Tetterson Teatter Teader Tedder Tedderton, Tether Teather Titter Tittery Tider Tidder Tidderson Tidderon sometimes govt officails wrote them down as short hand [Teter]

My George Teater of kentucky is noted in many various forms
the French Indian war with Samuel exactly as Teater. then in the south Irish colony of pre Botetourt on the Crabcreek tract as [Teetar] then in the Church of Scotlands presbytery congragation of Rev Cummings as Teetor. on his land deeds as Tetor. on the sandy river battle as Teter on the Capt William Campbell Scotch Irish militia as Teter, on the Goerge Rodgers Clark muster rolls as Teater. on the 1st Madison tax list as Teeter.
On the post revolution tax lists in Madison as Tetor and Teater.
As i said it depeded on the the way the recorder heard and his abilitiy to spell the name.
The Governor of Washington co said George Tutor and Tetor was a Scotch as did George Teater s grandaughter said her grandfather s male line George Teater was Scotch see the conner bibliography.

If you note the same Archor Worley the Indian trader was the son of Col John Worley who was the in law of William and Samuel Teterton of Tyrrell North carolina. Col Worleys grandson Joeph Worley was the grandson of John Worley he married the sister of Capt Sam Teater s wife..

The dates of birth show George Teater of Kentucky was born in 1736 no later than 37 by his Headstone. Therfore he was not John Goerge Dieter[ Teter ]ect born 1739. Samuel Teater wrote in his own hand he was born 1735 therfore he was not the German Samuel Dieter [TETER] born in the 1740s.
The real Dieters who were Germans that came on the ship Allen are 100% documeted by the 2 books i recomended you read. Also if you want you can go see thier graves in Penn. in any case they have to do with Samuel or George.

There are no German in laws in the family not even one.
Germans didnt slave, in a big way ours were horrific slavers.
Germans didnt feud from the 1st generation all the way to after the cival. war ours did. The colonial athorities did not post German settlers to command English and Scotch irish troopsIn the miltias. only the Prussian officers were used for training
There was a German officer in the Revolution who is noted in the area of supply not, combat arms as our Teaters were. You can view the files of the Teter Hinkles in that regards

The 1789 Madison tax list shows Samuel Teater was there with my George Teater and his son Samuel. It also shows the other George Teater Tedder Tettor variuos ways he spelled his name. from Dobbs North Carolina was also there with his son also George Tetor jr. That George Tetor left his nephew there Thomas Teater he was the son of Thomas Tettor sr of Dobbs NC.
Thomas Tettor and George Tetor Tedder ect were the sons of old George Teeder a son of of Samuel Teteron and Mary Evans of Dobbs. These all Teaters came in 1660 to Gloucester and Perquimans Notrth Carolina. They also spelled thier name Teter Tator Tettor Teeder ect.
William Teterton Tator ect married Elizabeth Gibson. His elder brother Samuel married Mary Evans.. These Gibsons come from Henry Gibson who took a high ranking Tuscaroa woman who was a Christian, His son was Chief Walter Gibson a famous frontiersman a NC Regulater and thier sister married Clark. Genral Elijah Clark was aslo a famous American patriot Genral of the Revolution he was named after Eljiah Gibson.

Kelloge s manuscript started the [Teter Mess ]of fantasy and speculation more than speculation like wild speculation. he took 3 different people and played the creater and made all of them into one person. Fact is it never happened. His notes on other Teters are ok. But he made a big fine mess out of our Teters. Which as you can see every mess needs to be cleaned up. I and several others are doing just that.
What i have posted is all real documents with some comments not fake or speculative.
I can see the info you are relying on is all old. incorrect pre internet genealogy based soley on speculation not hard real documented facts. Another senior Teater writer and researcher told me people have a tendency to believe what they read so always put a real document with a post not speculation. Unfortunatly pearl I think you and others have just been reading info based upon Kelloges mess of untrue false specultion.

As you can see how one spells his name today and how it as speeled 200 years ago are many varieties.
If I understand you correctly you claim to come by the Samuel Teater and the Doddridge family. Samuel was aka also a Gibson nick name or true name. He is recorded as Samuel Teater. Samuel Teeter Samuel Teeters Samuel Teter the very last signature in his on pen and hand on a official letter in a clear state of mind he wrote [tea - ter - ton ]or ron. which signed says Teaterton or Teaterron. bieng the right family of of William Teterton or ron from Tyrrell north carolina. these Teters were from Scotland and England and N Ireland.

Some other note s which you already know German settelrs in the 1st genarations did not out marry much ,hardley at all. Some did trade with the indians, but didnt marry they stayed German. none of our Teaters ever married any Germans at all. Our Teaters belonged to no German churchs not Dunkers or Lutherans ect. Our teaters are throughly mixed in with Goins Gibsons Collins Halls Burtons Bolens Riddles who were Saponi Indians later coined by a Tenn Virg local word Malunjun.
The others Smiths Pearis Hohimer Mcquerry Benge many others were Cherokee Choctaw Tuscaroa backgrounds.

Hers a good suggestion why dont you head up the Teter Teater Teetars Teterton Tether sur name DNA project. This a scientific way to prove everything. I aready have 2 results ill hold on to for now I would rather the rest form a family DNA project and they will see the ones from George and Samuel that way I wont be blamed for them following Kelloges speculation.
I already have the inlaws Y male results which are haplogroup g g2 j j2 rhib over and over agian .All dark skin eurpoean on the male sides. Would you like to do that ?
If not not lets get someone with a science back ground and genealogy background to head up the Teter dna y male test project. every other frontier family has already done this Whats wrong with us. Are we incapable or what.?
A DNA project will make it official whats your suggestion who should get it moving along.? Because after its done there will be no more sniping or speculative notions will there?

I dont mind people hurling insults or sniping at me I was in the US military long enough to carry bucket loads of you know what .Those things dont faze me. I come from the southern Teaters raised as gentleman who try if possible to do things in a cival wy. As I said George Teater is dead and cannot defend himself aginst people like Kelloge, so thats my
job .
DNA testing is the way to go I aready know the results but lets let the rest see and do it for themselves is that ok for you to help get it started?
