Harold how right you are. But remeber many of these family trees were worked decades before the arrival of the internet and search engines. If we think back to decades ago. There is absolutly no way to correctly establish 7 to 9 generations without making extreme errors. it would of cost millions of dollars and thousands of man hours in expenses and traveling around to get right.

A good case in point is my own Teter family. A manuscript written decades ago named my George Teter as misindentified person named as John George Teter born 1739.
The son of German Dunker.
It absolutly proven that the George Teter who was the son of German dunker never set foot in Kentucky he buried in Penn with father the true Jurg Deiter ect who came on the ship Allen.

Marraige bond document and muster rolls of the battle of point pleasant clearly show his name was never John George Teter. His name was George William Teter Tetor Teeter Tetar Teater depending on the clerk who wrote his name as he heard it. The gravestone of George Teter of Kentucky says YE, Scotch Irish script. 79 yrs old 1815. Means he was born near 1736 37 . therfore not the John George Teter born 1739 of the opequon .

The governor of Washington county Virg specifically stated that the George Teter of Madison Garrard KY was Scotch Irish.
His Grandaughters biography backed that my grandfather George Teater of Garrard was Scotch Irish. there 100s of more documents to support this.

In 1789 the man named as aka Capt Samuel Gibson Teater is listed on the tax list with the George Teater of Madsison KY his son George jr his son Samuel obviuosly named after SR Samuel Teater. In additon there was another George Teter and his son George jr. They are poroven as the man known as George Teeder or George Tedder jr and sr of Dobbs N Carolina

In addtion notes Rowan co . Where most of all of George Teter of kentuckys inlaws came from his noted there after the french Indian war . This further backed by the history of Daniel Boone which notes the George Teter of Madison ky went into Kentucky with Boone on his 1st trip. which was from North Carolina. It further backed up by George Teters inlaw Jonas Griffith who was captured on the same trip and became a white Shawnne renegade

The proper of order of things sumed up is that the Capt Samuel gibson Teater was the elder brother of the George Teater of Kentucky by 2 years his true name was George William Teater also eveident by his sons names George and William. he was named as lt- ensign - officer during the Revolution . He was Scotch Irish Presbyterian who was conveted by his eldest brother Samuel Teater to the Methodist faith later in Kentucky beared out by his son Parris Teater being the preacher of the Methodist Gunns chappell.

So Harold I myself put little faith in any family tree written before the arrival of the internet. There are 100s of quack Genealogists who asvertise these family trees on websites and sell misinformation in Books phamphlets ccd s ect. And the ones who do this will consistently interupt family genealogists of friendly family boards like this one. To protect there commerical intrests. Its sad fact we have to contend with.
I see this here, some are trying to prevent me from posting true and factull [real documents] on my Teter line. Whats the motivation I can only guess.

Anyway thankyou for the correction. In regards to Iowa one of the most numerous Teter family In that state was Claiborne C Teator from Garrard Kentucky, He was the brother of my Absalom Fletcher Teater who remained in Madison ky

If i can find something by the migration route on your Samuel ill get back to you.

JAN
