Those are interesting points.
I would not put a lot of stock in the fact that Joseph John Worley was named Joseph. As far as I can tell, he was the first in 3 generations of descendants of Col. John Worley to have that name. The NC Worleys appeared to name their children after famous acquaintances (or relations?). For example, Lovick Worley was apparently named after John Lovick. Joseph John Worley and Willis Worley share names with the Alston family, who originally lived in the same area as Col. John Worley. Joseph John Alston (1703-1781) had sons Joseph John, Jr and Willis Alston.
