Hello Q if you go to the Teeter board.I have posted a recollection of Gov David Campbell of Washington county list, of what he terms the Scotch Irish Presbyterians in the co before 1772 he list George Teater as George Tutor, as did George Teaters family biography of indiana in regards to his in law Caleb Conner it again list this family generally known as the Teaters of Kentucky as Scotch Irish. Most of my cousins that use this board are completely confused between this George Teater and another one named Dieter Teter who lived at the same time, the other was of Germanic background as indicated in his will signed in German script they were lutherans, Tetter Tettery Teatter Teeder Titur Tietur Tieter Teterton Tedder are common names in Scotland Wales Ireland and border areas of Scotland, these Teters arrived in Virginia 1635 Maryland 1650s Perquimans NC 1650s as Teeter Teeder Teder Teterton Totter Titur,

George Teaters elder brother Samuel Gibson Teater signed his last document in Ohio as Samuel Teaterton the name Gibson fits Scotch naming patterns indicating the mother maiden name was Gibson, which here again matchs the 1730 marraige of Elizabeth Gibson and William Teterton brother of Samuel Teaterton since all of Elizabeths nephews Samuel Gibson James Gibson John Gibson lived on the same tract bakers tract middle fork of the Holston it stands to reason they were a family unit on the Frontier.
