I should attach a few followups to make this more clear.
Washington Co, VA Surveys, Page 277 - John PORTERFIELD - 150 ac. on a fork of Bakers Creek, waters of the Middle Fork of Holston River - Commissioners Certificate - granted to George TETOR - Beginning corner to Hugh JOHNSONS land - corner to Crose KEETONS land - February 13, 1785 - George TETOR - 150 ac. on a branch of the Middle Fork of Holston - 60 ac. surveyed on January 16, 1774, includes improvements, actual settlement made in 1770 - August 30, 1781 - Assigned to Daniel RILEY on October 9, 1783. Signed: George TETOR. Witness: Aaron LEWIS - Assigned to John PORTERFIELD on March 9, 1785. Signed: Daniel RILEY. Witness: Aaron LEWIS. .

Benjamin Totten was living at this same place in 1782 on the Bakers tract, assume he was a tenant of George Teater, becuase George Teater was living with a William Gains in Kentucky by 1779 before the fort at Harrodsburg was built.
continue to map this out the next family of these deeds show James Gibson and Samuel Gibson the nephews of William Teterton of tyrrell North Carolina,
John Porterfeild preveoulsy lived along side Peter Tuttin Totten and [William Teter - Jeter ]with also Richard Pearis Robert Parris in the old 96th tax district of SC. At the same time George Teater was selling out here ,very strange another Fernch Huguenot named Jacob Jeter who went by Jacob Teater moved in coincedence I guess.. a troubling question is why did John Porterfield who lived all the way down in SC with Peter Tuttin Totten come all the way to Washington co where Benjamin Totten appears to be a tenant of George Teater while he was in Kentucky?
Next troubling question is why did George Jeter and William Jeter change thier names to Teter Teator ec as did Jacob Teater.
These people a very well documented as French Huguenots sons of John Jeater Jeter who was a 2nd generation refugee from England. For some reason the seem to move paralell to the inlaws and notes of George Teater of kentucky and use the same family names. Yet George Teater was documented by his family as Scotch Irish. His elder brother carried a scotch surname Gibson. Most likey coincedence..
But back to where peoples homes where, George Teater lived 1st at the crab creek tract next to his father inlaw Capt Richard Pearis this area was called the south Irish Colony within the larger Scotch Irish colony. His next move is to where the above deed is the Bakers tract .

There was also a John Teeter who lived 100s of miles away at Beaver creek, he s noted with other french speaking Swiss the Funkhousers. their spouses were Tunis French women.
