Yes. he must of been a capable young man. He was certainly accepted by the Daniel Boones family group in 1788 as the groom of Mary Van Cleave. George JR estimated 2 yrs younger than Samuel. But Squire Boone s son in law Timothy Logan mentioned he fought alongside Samuel Teater and[ Charles Teater] Joseph Ray... question is, was Charles a nick name for George Teater jr.? or was he another son possibly killed at the Blue licks with William Van Cleave.

George Teater SR is noted in other wars and units after mustering out of his regiment French Indian war with elder Capt Samuel Gibson Teater.

Capt Teater is mentioned in Rowan co 1766. By the revolution there was a George Teater listed there on military and tax records. Capt Samuel Gibson Teater was lsited as single man in 1768 on the settlement bedford. Therefore he could not of married his wife Mary Doddridge until 1769 placing his age at 36 yrs old. My own belief here is that both George and Samuel returned home to Rowan co NC where George married around 1762. . It should be that Capt Sam Teater also married same time - unknown woman- at least one son a George Teater...

Since the new discovery of Benjamin Totton on the 1799 Grainger Tn tax list and his notes as Capt over tax district in 1802 Jackson tn there should be a 3rd George Teater living in the family unit. Becuse a George Teater did in fact marry a Esther Griffith in 1796 Madison Ky.. I find it vey unusuall for the conditions of times that Capt Samuel gibson Teater waited until near 40 yrs old to produce his 1st sons being also George Teater and Samuel Teater..
It has been suggested by other Teater reseachers that Ester the wife of Benajmin Totton remarried a unknown Griffith man that he died and she remarried her son inlaw Parris Teater father George Teater sr 3rd marraige. that is incorrect becuse Ester was still not a widow until after 1802..

In the records of Ft Laurens it mentions a Lt Teater arrived in the relief mission witha question mark ? Samuel or George common sense Samuel was not demoted to Lt then reinstalled as Capt later. So should be George. .
George Teater s headstone was discovered in 1973 laying on its side under one inch of mud. It said 79 yrs old 1815. By the time of him at Clarks station he was a old man conditions of time.. Samuel Gibson Teaters head stone on the Mc Donald farm says birth 1735. by this Samuel Gibson was 2 yrs older than George William. If he was 79 in 1815 puts his birth at 1736 37. This also proves he is not the German Dunker named John George Dieter born 1739 presntly buried in a German village in Penn with his father Yohan Jurg Dieter and his son John George Teter...
