Lewis Craig TETER - Sally POWE GARRARD KY

Dec 30, 1819; Bond: Benjamin BROWN

The Poe family kept a record or file. I understand it names the parents of Lewis Craig Teater as George William Teetor and Esther Griffith. perhaps they have a
Bible or Famiy Record book.

The petition for form the the commonwealth of Kentucky 1792
where George Teater signed as George Tetor at the time that was way he signed his name. Whoever transcibed it in Washinton DC
Noted there is ? between George and Tetor. Symbolizes he had put a middle initial faded cannot be read. It certainy shows his name was not John by his signature.

Susannah Teater the grandaughter of George Teater and Sarah left a family record as legacy the Teater line she came thru was Scotch Irish, its a old record listed in the history of Indiana.

Basically Gov David Campbell said it better that the German Teters came after George Teater meaning he was not German that would of been John Teeter and his wife Eve Tuney.
Our family group has searched for years to find one document that shows George Teater had a German friend a German inlaw a German trait, nothing exists in that form.

Most of Circumstancial notes show him to be from the tidewater Teters of NC. Who came from England Scotland in the 1600s settled in Perquimans Chowan Bertie areas.
They have Many variants. Tutor Tuttor Tetor Tettor Teterton Teder Tuder Teeder Teeter Teater Teaster Teatard Tetard.
mMst of them where named George Samuel and William..
2 mian triats the Kentucky Teaters were horrific Negro Slavers and Feuders traits German families did not hardly engage in..
As I understand George Teaters elder brother Samuel has a headstone on the Mcdonald farm in Union Ohio which leans against a fence along the rail tracks which inscripted Samuel Gibson Teater. Capt born 1735. I have not inspected it ,but thats some info i have recived. I have seen a photo copy in his own hand of his date birth 1735. Where ? nothing stated.. Iam still looking at Robert Tetard who came to Albemarle 1600s and following his line now to 1730 Chowan Co
will post it later. As far as middle names I found 1 from Scotland John Phillip Tetard and a few french same name 2 or 3 more 1750s to the revolution era. thats from memory dont quote me
The last I found on Robert Tetard was also in Edgecombe Samuel Teaster 1788. As far Johhann Jurg Dieter son john George Deiter the Dunker Anabatist born 1739 buried in Burk PA it shows one thing he was who was, and has absolutly nothing to do with the George Teater of Washington Co and Garrard Kentucky dunkers of early virginia did not eat beef George Teater ate plenty raised it and supplied it.
