Im begining to see why so many Teater Totten reserchers have been thrown off the trial finding the true and revelant documents. It appears to be the political dealings of Gov Bradley and Governor Morrow both Governors of Kentucky and both direct relations of George Teater and his 3rd wife Esther Totten. The crisscrossing to land tittles times dates and names that were near to each other. Goose Creek.

The father of Robert Pearis ,George Pearis is documented as living at Goose Creek on the Roanoke, he had a land dispute there which also mentions the Peppers. He moved to Rowan Co NC 1762. There are 3 or4 deeds that mention his residence early 1760s and late 1750s as Goose Creek on the Roanoke.

The other Goose Creek is the Totten History.
Description: 207 acres above Goose Creek, adjoining [John Tuton,] Margaret Hawling &c. Source: Northern Neck Grants F, 1742-1754, p. 224-225 (Reel 292). Part of the index to recorded copies of land grants issued by the agents of the Fairfax Proprietary between 1690 and 1781 and by the Commonwealth between 1786 and 1874. Original and recorded surveys are also indexed when available. The collection is housed in the Archives at the Library of Virginia. .

More investigation on John Tuton shows he was squatter mentioned as a Irishman. By 1750 or there abouts he disappeared .Perhaps evicted by the Awbreys. The area above should be Fairfax Co. John Tuton appears in the NC Militia 1750s same time as Absalom Tuton.

Back to the Governors of Kentucky. During the time of Gov Bradley wild news of the Tottens Teaters begins to appear in articles ,even a photo publicity stunt. Wild stories example Parris Teaters wife was born in Long Island New York. Parris Teater was a [White Child ]notice the use of the word[ white child] born in the fort of Danville Kentucky 1780.
Benjamin Totten Sr was murdered for his money 1796 in Lynchburg Virginia. George Teator was a son of Paul Teator and founder of all the Teater s in America..
So why all the riducles stories.?
These Governors were sided with the Union. Political enemies may have been investigating Indian or Melungeon Spanish bloodlines of the family, which exposed at the time could of crushed the political careers of both Governors..

So what are the facts.?
A boy Benjmain Tuton was apprenticed to Andrew Miller 1764 Augusta.
Andrew Miller ,Miller removed to the 96th SC, he is on the same list with Peter Tutten ,later known as Peter Totten of the Abbevelle Longcrane Presbyterians.
Listed with John Porterfield same place same time ,note both Andrew Miller and John Portefield returned to Washington Co Virg from SC.
Benjamin Totten moved down from Montgomery Co 1781 to the exact place where George Teator owned, property at the middle fork of the Holston . Benjamin Totten was there 1782.The next year he went to Green TN with Robert Pearis and his brother John Totten.
The next near John Porterfield a former neighbor of Peter Totten Abbeville SC transacts deed of Bakers Creek with George Teater.
Appears that Andrew Miller took Benjamin Totten and Brothers to 96th S. Carolina..
Had more reserchers looked closer at the musters of Lord Dunmores war its clear John Totten is listed with Sgt George Teater and George Pearis Joshua Ingles ect. He was there by 1774. Both John and Benjamin Totten show with Thomas Ingles 1781 militia roster under Capt Thomas Ingles.
Included would be Charles Gonzalva, Grandson of the wild Spainard ,John Gonzalvo of Virginia. This name Juan Gonzalva John Gonzalva and many Spanish names are frequent in both Parris Teater and his bother in law Joseph H Totten s children

Rebecca Totten the wife of Paris Teater born in New York to a mother of Dutch aristircats, just more redicules.
Rebecca Totten father Benjamin Totten is listed on the Nolichucky Greene TN exactly the year she was born 1786.
Census records of herself brother Joseph Totten show born in Tennesse 1786 for Rebecca and 1788 for Joseph and 1789 for James born in North Carolina .

Parris Teater born in the fort at Danville a White Chld
Parris Teater notes census records ,show he was born 1780 Virginia. The Danville fort was built in 1785. Parris Teater father George Teater and his brother Samuel mostly show to have lived in Blockhouse, Clark Station or a small Cabin nearby.

Paul Teater father of George Teater. There were no children grandchildren great grandchildren in George Teater s family ever named Paul.
Paul Teter was German, who lived in the German Valley with with the Hinckles and his brothers George Teter and Phillip Teter. Paul Teter was born 1730 he couldnt of been the father of George Teater of Garrard Kentucky. He was only 6 yrs old when George Teater was born.
Benjamin Totten being murdered for his money 1796 in Lynchburg. The exhaustive manuscript births and deaths in Lynchburg 1794 to 1836 ,show no such person being dead there. The Virginia Gazette has no such report, the courts and Culpepper Sheriff s office of Lynchburg have no such reports.
Fact Gov Sevier did pay a letter request for Benjamin Totten 1802 - 1805 Sevier letter series. Bejamin Totten was listed as Capt ,Capt Benjamin Totten 1802 Jackson TN.. Some respondents give the excuse Capt Totten was Benjamin Totten Jr.
Not so, he was listed as private war 1812 Was way to young in 1802 to have lead a Militia of mostly Revolution Patriots 1802 Jackson TN.

Botetourt records 1770 timeline show 60 Juvenile Apprentices
30 Orphans ,due to the toll of Indian hostilities in that area. This seems to be the case Benjamin Totten and brothers sisters around 1764 Apprenticed to the Millers who took these children to the old 96th SC.. Its a fact that John Porterfield lived with these people in the old 96th. Perhaps it was Benjamin Totten or Peter Totten who made the introduction between Porterfield and George Teater.
In theory a Political Enemy of Gov Bradley got wind of his mothers genetic and historical links to Melungeon Spaniards or Indian backgrond. Bradleys response was the wild fantastic news stories to throw his political enemies off.
Add those items to the speculations of Joseph Kellogg, and now the internet we have the Teater Totten mess.
To the birth area of Robert Pearis I would estimate somewhere in that Crab Creek area to Drapers Meadows where his mothers family the Peppers lived in 1750. It seems George Pearis spent along time at Goose Creek Roanoke. Whereas the 1st elder Totten being John Tuton Totton ect, lived at another Goose Creek Fairfax at the time ,1724 to 1749 1750 before being evicted or driven off by the Awbreys.
