Hi Ace,
Thanks for the info... I've seen that Moses and Betsy Teeter before, but they are not my line. My Moses Harris was the son of Timothy Robert and Mary "Polly Teter/Teeter-Harris. I checked some of the death certificates I have on their children and her name was listed as Mary or Polly or Mary Polly and the last name was listed as Teters or Teeters.
I did a further check on Teters/Teeters in Saline Co., Mo and discovered that Timothy's sons Henry C. Harris, John, Moses and Stephen all served with a George Teeters in Co. F of the 71st Enrolled Missouri Militia during the Civil War. So I'm wondering if George was a cousin!?! Moses' brother in law was also in their company, his name was Laughlin McLean.
I'll keep looking.....thanks for helping! I've gone through this whole board and read your messages and Jan Lala's, and you guys are GREAT! I've learned more about the Teeter line in the last couple of weeks that I ever dreamed I'd find!!!
Dee Dee
