Y search. This group traces itself to Thomas Teater who married Rebecca White 1796 Madison Kentucky 1796. He came 1792 as Teddar. His group setteled in the Roane TN area .
The male Y Gene Haplogroup is Iib. [Northern Barbarian Viking ]So far 3 people matched in various locations.
It is shame though, there is no Teter Teeter Teater DNA family project. This line above shows as 2 brothers Thomas Tettor
and George Tedder of Dobbs NC. it was traditional that most of the Teder Tedder lines connected in NC.
DNA science shows this line does not relate to the others in Granville Wake Georgia who came up with a very different Haplogroup R1B1.
I notice one Hinkle is listed on the Cumberland GAP DNA site
off hand i believe it was near the same. Yet that does not do us any good because if he had a Teter line it would be the MTDNA which was not tested.
At present there is a Tutor Tudor Teder Tedder DNA project. I dont think they will have a problem with the Teater Teter Tetter Fetter Fiddor Tiddor Teter Teeter Teeters
A minimum of 10 males from the various variants would really cut out a lot of data and theory with scientific proof.
The famiy of Caswell NC and Granville as Tetter and Tedder have matched whereas the Tettor Tedders of Lenior Dobbs came with no matchs and a whole different Haplogroup type.
It can also be bad news for those who thought they were of Alpine families to find they are a Celtic type or some exotic type.
Those Teters of the Deitericks Deiters Dotterers Dutterers even Kieffer Duter Ditrow Ditterlys Ditherlys are most certian German Teters. The Tettery Tiddor Titters Tetertons
Teader Tetter Tettler Tyter Tetar Teatard Teatro Dearter Teaster Tietur Tester Tutor and Tedder are more common to the Brittish Islands..
Hope some of the guys will come forward, spend a 100 bucks and get swabbed.
See what happens. No intent to be insensitive only balanced
Ace
