Elsie (Tewksbury) Gibson obituary

Hello Tewksbury researchers...I found this obituary in some Gibson memorabilia. There is no name for the Ohio newspaper it was taken from, nor a date, but since she was born in 1891, it must be 1971.

"GARRETSVILLE--Mrs. Elsie M. Gibson, 80, of Garrettsville, died Friday following a long period of failing health. she was born in Meigs County, a daughter of the late William and Jane Tewksbury.

She had lived in Garrettsville and Akron for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in Akron. Mrs. Gibson was a retired employee of Goodyear Aircraft in Akron. Her husband, Martin W., died in 1942.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Simpson of Garrettsville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son Virgil.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Mallory Funeral Home in Garrettsville. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Wells Cemetery in Downington."

Hope this helps someone.

Terry
