I believe my wife's Thackrah family were related to the Little Falls Thackrahs. Our branch is in Amsterdam and I believe that Civil War hero Benjamin Thackrah had a brother in Little Falls. Their parents were Benjamin Thackrah and Elizabeth Barraclough originally from Leeds, England (civil war Ben was born in Scotland). The family came from the village of Pudsey between Bradford and Leeds in Yorkshire (lovely litlle place). For centuries they were involved in woolen manufactures, but the industrial revolution put them out of business (though one branch had some factories in Pudsey area).
