searching my THACKRAH/THACKERY ancestors. my great grandmother ELIZABETH THACKRAH/THACKERY (found it spelled both ways), married a WILLIAM LOETSCH in 1882 chicago, cook co., ill. on their marriage record it states her father was william. on the 1900 census, cook co.,ill. it shows she was born in ENGLAND and imm.1865.
i just recently located a census in 1870, broughton twp., livingston, illinois showing a THACKERY,WILLIAM born in england, his wife ELIZABETH born in england with their children ROBERT, MARY, ELIZABETH and HANNAH born in CANADA and next door their son WILLIAM jr. also born in CANADA.
these names and ages are so close to matching my family except their being born in canada.
my grt. grandmother elizabeth named her children EMMA, HANNAH and WILLIAM. SO if this census record in 1870 is her as a child it would help my research but i need to locate this family again in the 1880 census or in canada at an earlier time to compare information. i just looked at the 1880 census for broughton, livingston co.,ill.and they were no longer living i don't know where to go from here. any advice would be appreciated. thanks, sharon
