Cornelius son of Thomas & Prudence Thames
Cornelius was born about 1730 and died about 1761 in Bladen County NC. William C. Fields and this deed are in agreement on that score.

Cornelius evidently died testate since his executors are referred to in this deed. If he had died intestate they would have been referred to as administrators. We have found no trace of his will or estate papers.
We are revisiting Cornelius and his wife Mary Evans. We now believe they may have answers to a couple of Thames NC mysteries.
We now have accounted for and proved what happened to three of the six sons of Thomas and Prudence. Cornelius and Samuel died at about the same time 1761 in Bladen Co. NC. Joseph died there in 1780. We cannot account for John, Thomas and Amos except to say we believe they were there in 1763 and can't be found after 1768.
