I could have information if you could find out what it originally was spelled like...

The old books are filled with Theiss / Theis / Theiß that flew from france because the Hugenottians (that's the correct englsih term?) were hunted in france... Each of them a diffrent family.

I'd like to go to france to do some research there, but i lack the money and knowledge of old, handwritte french :(
