Hi, My gggrandfather was John Henry Theiss, born Feb. 1844 in Hesse Dormstadt Germany. His wife was Kathryne Haas, perhaps she went by the nickname Katie. On the 1900 Census they were living with their 8 children in Colorado. I do no that some of the family were living in MO. Kathryne and most of the children were born in Germany also. I was told by a distant relative, since deceased, that they spelled the name Theiss, Theys, but death cert. for my Greatgrandmother clearly spelled it Theiss. If you think you might have info, please e-mail me at Feetrest@aol.com. Thanks, Carol Helms
