FINDING:THIES/THEISS1500-1750sPalatinate

In an attempt to confirm data on Thomas Thies (1617-1675) earliest known ancestor in the Hans Mattheis Thies/Thiess b 1670 line, I have been going through the Kusel Kirchenbuch and have found what may be an earlier ancestor. Matthes Theiss b abt 1676 d 1723 in Kusel, and also, perhaps, his father Hans Theiss, who marries in Diedlekopf in 1575. I am waiting on the arrival of the Lichentenberg Kirchenbuch to try and confirm. Also it appears the last name of the wife of Johann Matthias Theiss (1704-1748) Maria Margaretha may have been DIEL. I have found about 75 Theiss scattered around the area near Kusel in the 1500-1750 period. I am attempting to plot lines for these folk. More, hopefully, to come. There is more to tell. Any interested parties may e-mail me at dices4@dbtech.net. Sorry for the length of this message.
