Dear Melissa. I am from the Blackheath Thews look into my notes with Francis I cover the connection in them as well as my position in that tree. Next time you talk to your dad ask him if he ever met Peter McManus he also was a merchant seaman. My mum married twice and Peter was her second husband Peter was about 65 at last guess he is gone now so I cant ask him.
Newcastle is near a lady who helped me with a huge amount of Thew stuff notes, correspondance, trees ect. Her name is Doris Slapp and along with her nephew has published a book on the Slapps. Doris is at Mayfield, with my mum at Tea Gardens. I will be up there in the next school holidays as my neice comes to stay with her Grandmother and Aunt
Yours Faithfully.
Alan Thew
