my father, Robert Wilson Thew has done extensive research on this branch of the family, to which my family is related. my granfather is James Phillip Thew. several years ago my brother, Gregory Thew, took a trip to new york and has photographs of Gilbert' and other family grave sites. I know that my father was in touch with some of the thews from this branch of the family before he died. i am sure that i can still find his research papers if you are still interested.
