Yet, more Thiemes!

I am from a large family of Thiemes originating from Goff, Kansas. Paul Ernst Thieme, my great-grandfather, emmigrated from Germany around the 1860s and sired thirteen children. My grandfather was Albert Paul and my father is Larry Martin. We pronounce Thieme "theem" as in theme song, etc., per American influence. It is pronounced "teem-eh" im Deustch (German). I am currently stationed in Germany and have met many German Thiemes living here. It is apparent that most or all Thiemes originated in the Saxony area (Berlin, Cottbus, etc.) of Germany. There are variations of Thiemes that live in Holland and elswhere.
There was another large family of Thiemes from the St. Joseph, Missouri, area. Arm Thieme emmigrated from Germany around the same time as my great-grandfather (1860s) and he also sired many children. However, that is all I know of that family. I will attempt to further challenge the Thieme origins when time permits.

Sincerely,
Kevin
