I may have some information to help you on your Thobaben line and I also have some information that relates to your last name in general also. Did you know that the Thobaben name has 28 ways to be spelled. It also is part of the larger and older name found in Germany. Did you know that Germany was formerly known as Prussia, since Germany did not come about until the year 1871). The name that came first was known as Darbowen. The Darbowen name is pronounced "Dar-bo-ven" in case you might be interested. I shall look forward to your reply if you still have an active email address.
