I am just getting my feet wet with this genealogy thing, but barren County is in Kentucky. I can send you what I have found so far, but I am not sure what prompted or when the name change took place. I have funeral home records that show mid 1800's births of deceased relatives and both variances of the spelling were used then. Thats all I know right now.
