Robin,
I am related to that part of the Thomes family. They reside mainly in Mohawk, NY. It is my first husband's family. Your father's family would have been cousins to my late father-in-law, William H. Thomes, Sr. His father was Harry Blaine Thomes,whose father was Fred D. Thomes from Malden, MA. Fred D Thomes' children were, George Ephrium, Frank Joseph, Freeman Blaine, Harry Blaine, Olive, and Ralph. George came to NY from Derry, NH in 1881. Some of his children were known to me. Your father's parents were Frank Edward Thomes,b.1906, in Mohawk, NY; his mother was Helen Brownrigg, b. 1927. In my family history I record that he married Gladys Phillips, 1960, and had 2 sons, Robert Allan & Donald James. He would have been the same generation as my ex-husband, Bill Thomes,Jr.
