Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

My great grandfather was William Thoms. I know that he was a naturalized citizen from Germany. I had his naturalization papers, but had them framed and gave them to my brother years ago. My brother, Edwin Franklin Thoms, died in 1990 at the age of 51. His widow, Patricia Thoms, Long Island, NY. is now in possession of these papers.

My brother had a son, John, and a dughter, Debbie.

My father was John William Thoms
