I am searching for any information regarding Nels Thornberg born about 1855 in Grythythe, Sweden. He married Amanda Christine Anderson 5/23/1887. The family resided in Stambaugh, Iron Co., MI. Nels and Amanda Thornberg had the following children: Barnard 1888 (died in infancy), Hjalmer 1/30/1889, Rudolph (Rudy) 9/1/1890, Theresa (Tessie) 4/27/1892, Harold (Harry) 10/15/1893, Edward 9/1895, Oscar 2/15/1902, and Amanda Christine 8/12/1907 (my husband's grandmother). Amanda Christine Anderson Thornberg died in childbirh while having her daughter Amanda 8/12/1907. Since most of the Thornberg children were grown, Amanda was taken care of by a foster mother, Anna Fredrickson. Nels Thornberg remarried to a woman named Caroline
