Vivian, Thanks for your response. I, too, am still trying to sort out all the Thornburghs, Thornboroughs, Thornburgs etc. I do not believe that any of the Thornburg name are really Thornboroughs or Thornburghs and the book that Charles wrote is even more conrfusing since he converted all his spellings of whatever the original spelling was to Thornburg with the "berg" sound instead of the "borough" (bro, long o sound)
All I have really worked on is the descendants of Roland Thornburgh of Maryland and his and my descendants from Elizabaeth Thornburgh who m. Thomas Elledge. Thanks for your help. I am now back into my data base working on completing the Thornburgh family history as Vol. IV of my 3 volumes ELLEDGES OUT FRONT book. You really have a great website. Keep up the good work. Cynthia Elledge Snider, 13003 Bellevue St., Beltsville, MD 20705. p. s. I live about 45 minutes from the original home of the American Thornburgh, Roland who married Ann whatever her name was!
