Are you the same Vivian with whom I have been corresponding since about 1998 when you sent me an email dated DEc. 18? Thanks for keeping in touch. I am now finally about ready to do the chapter on Roland Thornburgh, my ancestor.I have never found a connection between him and the Thomas you mention. His family was in Hampsfield when my Roland made his will and left his estate, should he have no children, to his next of kin in Hampsfield. None of the children shown in your records here except an Anne fits in with Roland of Maryland;s children. I have all 6 of them well documented and have the descendants of most of them. I have just mailed to another Thornburgh researcher my copy of the Thornburgh history written by one of Roland's sons, John's descendant, Opal Cox. Her Ann Thornburgh was my Elizabeth Thornburgh's sister, both being children of Roland's son, John who married a Tayloe who had married a Billington. I have those lines well documented. Roland's son, Francis, had no children and his son, Roland's children are well documented. That leaves only the one other daughter, whose name right now I can't recall and that may have been the one who married the Wells which line I alao hCW in my data base but not in my computer. Just do know Roland of Hampsfield was not son of Thomas who married the Lane. That Thomas, I think was of the junior line and lived at Selside instead of the first son home at Hampsfield. More later. Cynthia

I have never researched the Thomas Thornborough/Nicholas/Janet line, so have no way of knowing their relationship with my Roland. My ancestor, Roland, made it clear in his will that his next of kin lived at Hampsfield, England when he made his will and said that should he die with no American heirs, his estate was to go to his "next of kin at Hampsfield, England" Now that was where the "that time" oldest son who would have been the head of the family lived. I will have to check my data base for who was living at Hampsfield at that time to know whether there is any truth to the Thomas relationship. I think I found that Thomas was from a younger son line and that if there was also a Roland in that line, it surely was not my ancestor who at that time lived in Baltimore County, Maryland with his 6 children and wife, Ann. My Roland's children were
