Thoroughgood coat of arms

A Pate researcher living in England has discovered a reference to a book plate which displays the Thoroughgood coat of arms quartered with the Pate coat of arms. There is no illustration. Source: "Franks Bequest: Catalogue of British and American Book Plates" by Sir Augustus Wollaston Franks, 1904.

These arms prove that was a marriage between the two families (a Thoroughgood man and a Pate female), but when? Burke’s has a description of the Thoroughgood arms. There were two different styles for different family lines.

The most common Pate arms display three R's on a field of white or silver.

Anyone who has any information on these arms, please post her or send me a private email.
