I am a Thursby who has an Edward Thursby born about 1760 in Maryland/Virginia or maybe some other place altogether. That is my problem.
He marries into a large land owning Prince George's County, Maryland family in 1786.The Sasscer family has no other information on him other than he married Ann Sasscer. The Sasscer's gave them land and in return they named their only son William after Ann's father. They also appear to have had two daughters, one of whom is named Amy.
Amy does live to get married but I don't think the other did.Amy, however, doesn't live long after marrying a Singleton Mitchell. After she dies he remarries and moves to Ohio.
Edward either dies or leaves the family.I am not sure yet.His wife Ann leaves a will but I have found none for Edward. The land they own becomes part of DC.William inherits it from his mother. He has many children after first serving in the War of 1812 and marrying a Sarah Kirkley in DC.He was born about 1790 and is older that Sarah by about 10 years.
I have posted this tree out on the Thursby myfamily site.
I know everything about the descendents of Edward but nothing about him.He is a big brickwall for me.
I have found references to another older Edward in Maryland and his wife Ann.Their ages would be right to be my Edward's parents.I haven't seen the original full records but there is a will and other detailed records that may shed light.I haven't had time recently to go to the MSA to look into them.
Any information you have on Ann would be of interest to me.I am willing to share.
