I hope this will help you. There is a James Tibbets in the 1850 US Census Maine Kennebec County Town of Augusta Roll M432_256 page 65 Image 133. He is listed as 56 years old and w/several other Tibbets. He may have taken in some of my ancestors a Melissa Denman 6 yrs old & John Denman 5 yrs old. James is listed as 14th entry on census page. Good Luck
