The surname has been found as Tibbets, Tibbetts, Tibbits, and Tibbitts. I will be posting this message to all four surnames on this site. I am seeking information concerning Calvin C. Tibbets and Pamela (Pamelia) Blinn and any descendants.
Pamela Blinn was bp. in Hartford, Connecticut on May 4, 1800. Her family moved to Oneida County, New York around 1806/1807. It is a guess that Calvin was born in New York about the same time as I have no dates. It is presumed that Calvin and Pamela were married in New York.
I located Calvin Tibbits in the 1830 census for Whitestown, Oneida County, New York. The census record lists the parents, one male under the age of 5, and one female under the age of 5.
I have not been able to locate the family in the 1840 census records anywhere. It was during this time that the family was preparing to move to Ohio, so it is possible that they may have been enumerated with another family member.
I again located Calvin Tibbetts in Brooklyn Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio at the age of 48 with his occupation listed as a boatman. Along with Calvin are his wife, Pamelia, age 49; Ann, age 17; Luther, age 20; and George? M., age 18. All the children listed were born in New York, and the boys are both listed as clerks.
In 1863 one of Pamela's sisters passed away and they are mentioned in the will as Pamelia Tibbets wife of Calvin C. Tibbets of the City of Cleveland, Ohio.
I have been unable to locate records for any of the family since 1863. I seem to have run into a brick wall. Any and all help would be most appreciated.
