Harriet Caroline Mariah Tibbits was born ca 1831 in Michigan. She married on 12 September 1847 in Coldwater, Branch County, Michigan to Dennis Henry McBride of Erie, PA. She then made her home in Erie with Dennis.

I believe she was mother to the following children: Jerome Francis, b. ca 1848; Mary B., b. about April 1850; Thomas D. b. ca 22 February 1854 in Erie. She died 2 September 1855 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary states she left 2 children, her husband, father, mother, 2 brothers, and a sister when she died. (I believe the child Mary A. died between the 1850 census and Harriet's death in 1855). I do not know who her parents or siblings were, but did find reference to an Allen Tibbits in Coldwater, Branch County, in the 1840 census index.

Harriet's son Thomas died in 1900. His obituary mentions that his mother was daughter of the late Rev. Mr. Tibbits, of Coldwater. Thomas' death record was recorded far from his home, and his parents' names are a bit garbled on it. I found what they listed for his middle names to be of interest; they had D'Arcy McGee for middle names. They are not names I have yet found on his father's side of the family.

His obituary also lists two cousins of Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan ... Mrs. H. G. Bigleow and Mrs. C. O. Williams. I found reference to a Henry G. Bigelow marrying an Eva Tibbetts on 16 October 1872 in Muskegon. This information is so new I have not yet looked into it.
